Terms of use

The Articles every captain signs. Plain words, no tricks: play fair, be decent, and remember it's a beta.

1. Who runs Galleonfall

Galleonfall™ is an independent game made and run by Giuseppe Occhipinti (Italy), "we" in these terms. Contact: [email protected]. By making an account or playing, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

2. It's a beta

Galleonfall is in development. Rules, numbers and features will change; the game may be offline at times; and seas may be reset or wiped between or even during seasons when the game needs it. We'll warn players in the game when we can. Please don't put anything into the beta you couldn't bear to lose: it's free, and it's a work in progress.

3. Your account

• Use a real email address you can read, and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
• One account per person. Extra accounts to feed or protect your main cove ("multi-accounting") aren't allowed.
• Accounts are personal: don't share, sell or trade them.
• You must be at least 14, or have a parent's or guardian's permission if you're below the age of digital consent where you live.

4. Fair play

• No bots, scripts, macros or other automation playing for you.
• No exploiting bugs. If you find one, tell us; we're grateful, and the best bug reports get a mention.
• No attacking, overloading or probing our servers, and no getting at other players' accounts or data.
• No buying or selling anything from the game for real money.

5. Behave like a pirate, not a scoundrel

Raiding rivals is the game; harassing people isn't. Pirate names, guild names and chat must not contain hate, harassment, threats, sexual content, personal information about others or anything illegal, and you mustn't pretend to be someone you're not (including us). We may rename, mute, suspend or remove accounts and content that break these rules.

6. Your cove isn't money

Gold, rum, ships, islands, Renown and everything else in the game are part of the game. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money, and you get a licence to use them, not ownership.

7. Our work, and yours

The game, its code, art, text, music, the Galleonfall™ name and logo belong to us. We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable licence to play. Don't copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer it to make a competing service.

You're welcome to stream, record and share screenshots of Galleonfall, and to make fan content, as long as you don't pass it off as official. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, with thanks.

8. Ending things

You can stop playing and ask us to delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we may end the beta or the game; we'll give notice where we reasonably can.

9. No guarantees

The beta is provided free and "as is", without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost game progress, downtime or indirect damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by law.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms as the game grows; we'll show the date of the latest version at the top and tell players about important changes in the game. These terms are governed by Italian law; if you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
